Contrary to typical Course Management Systems which enforce a common, rigid structure of online course design, the first seven years of development at MSU Virtual University left faculty free to structure their courses any way they chose. This content analysis of the structure and inital student experience of 120 MSU Virtual University courses will look at the results of this freedom, both overall and by discipline.

A coding form has been developed and is being refined. We are partway through coding the sites. A "tour VU" site is being developed, for fall 2002 public release.
