eCollaboration software:

Acuity:
Description: Live one on one (chat) assistance, as well as self help, web agents, and friendly email interfaces provide customer interaction support for ecommerce and esupport. The system tries to answer customer questions through an online threaded FAQ or email, but allows customer to "escalate" to live (chat) assistance when available.

Shared browsing and collaborative completion of forms is possible. Customers can also request a telephone callback.

AOL Instant messenger:
Features: Internet tool that informs you who's on-line at any time and enables you to contact them at will. Among the functions available are: chat, message, voice message, e-mail, and URL and trade files such as pictures, invitations or documents.

Crystalgate:
Description:: Oriented towards collaborative eCommerce, Crystalgate's Live Assistant offers both real time and asynchronous text chat, audio and video communication concurrent with and linked to a common browser window.

The views are synchronized to the point that scrolling is concurrent and text or audio annotation and joint completion of forms is possible. A visitor to an eCommerce (or other) web site with Crystalgate can request live assistance, initiating the collaboration session. Onsite personnel of the host web site manage the interaction.

CUSeeMe :
Features: Two way point to point and multipoint--full color video and audio chat. Exchange information on an electronic whiteboard, transfer files, and more.

CU-SeeMe¨ Web will provide a way to embed live, interactive video, audio, and text chat into a Web page

Price: for CUSee Me Pro, $69 per licence. CU-SeeMe embedded video chat web hosting unspecified now.

eShare:
Description: NetAgentú and eShare Expressionsú (enhanced IRC chat)

eShare NetAgent manages e-mail traffic and allows agents to engage in instant dialogs with web site visitors. The server supports intelligent queuing and routing of customers through multi-tier service lines, plus, an integrated knowledge-base that stores and remembers sales and support scripts, frequently used sayings, files and web pages.

Online agents can observe and log live visitor activity, proactively engage visitors in real-time discussions through their browsers, review and manage customer e-mail histories, push files, deliver tutorials, toggle between service lines to handle multiple customers at once. Includes automated response, e-mail, and customer self-service tools.

Agent represented by photo and name. Login form requests not only name and company but also what the customer's question is.

eShare Connectionsú Instant Messenging also provides an instant messenging application for building a community of clients.

Price: negotiated. The eShare instant messenging client is free.

Faciltate:
Description: Discussion software customized to enable text-based meetings and forums. Basic and advanced brainstorming is possible as well as brainstorming prioritization. Voting and surveys are can be configured and Community Chat, moderated or unmoderated discussion/meetings can be held.

Price: Standard license is $8,995; basic license is $5,995. Training is $3,750 plus travel expenses and technical support is $2,495/year.

FireTalk :
Features: Internet-based voice communication service that combines voice and conference calling with online text messaging and chat. FireTalk lets you find friends online and talk to them in real time using only a PC (with speakers, a microphone or headset) and the Internet. FireTalk's sound quality is really good even with a 28k dial-up connection.

Gooey
Description: Browsing tool that allows you to see who's surfing the same web page you are anywhere on the net and to chat with them. Though you can conduct group and private chats. Has a feature called Hitwave; that displays the top twenty web sites that have Gooey members.

iChat
Features: Internet tool that informs you who's on-line at any time and enables you to contact them at will. Among the functions available are: chat, message, e-mail and Firewall Compatibility.

ICQ:
Features: Internet tool that informs you who's on-line at any time and enables you to contact them at will. Among the functions available are: chat, message, voice message, e-mail, and URL and file transfer.

Price: Free

ICQ Surf:
Features: Enables you to see who's with you on the same Web page and chat with them directly. Participants declare interest areas and identify whether they are willing to have the sites they are surfing shared with the system. Visitors see a listing of the most heavily used sites by topic enthusiasts, and can jump to that page and chat with any subscribers to ICQ Surf who are there.

LivePerson:
Description: LivePerson provides web sites with a LivePerson link which launches a chat window where a customer service operator initiates a secure one-on-one text chat with the user.

The customer service operator works for and is located at LivePerson headquarters. It appears to the user that the operator is part of the web site's staff. The chat window is separate from the browser.

Mplayer :
Features: Adds live voice chat to any Web site to chat. Also provide chat rooms where users can voice chat and text chat with others in private rooms.

MSN messenger:
Features: Internet tool that informs you who's on-line at any time and enables you to contact them at will. Among the functions available are: chat, message, e-mail, and URL. With this software you will be automatically notified when you receive new messages in your Hotmail e-mail account.

NuVenture Software Solutions :
Features: Software create a virtual building with different rooms for different disscussions solely for the employees within a company. Virtual briefcase allows documents to be exchanged between different rooms and buildings. Allows audio and video chat.

The Palace:
Description: Live visual chat experience. Palace hosts can create multiple graphical interlinked scenes including robots which respond when a user enters the scene. Users are represented by the graphical avatar of their choice. Dialog is displayed in a cartoon-like dialog box. Authenticated servers (using password protection) are possible. Otherwise, anyone can enter the rooms.

Price: 8-user server is free. $100 for unlimited server license. Viewer and user software appear to be free.

Powwow :
Features: Instant Messaging, Chat, and Online Community software. PowWow users can utilize a collaborative white board and bulletin board system, conduct Web tours, and share files, URLs and sounds.

Third Voice:
Description: Post text notes for particular audiences -- public, group, personal or contact (for a specific person) notes on ANY web page. When users with the Third Voice client plugin turned on browse the web, they see any Third Voice annotations for which they have authorization. Cooperation of the web host site is not required -- the annotations live on Third Voice servers but are associated with particular web pages.
