HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECOVER FROM THE SURGERY?
Usually, recovery from a mastectomy takes 2-4 weeks, but may be longer if you have also had an axillary node dissection.

WHAT WILL I LOOK LIKE AFTER THE SURGERY?
There will be a scar that crosses your chest where the breast used to be. The scar is initially red and firm, but gradually softens and fades to the color of your skin.

SHOULD I HAVE BREAST RECONSTRUCTION?
This is a personal choice. You should consider how comfortable you will be with the way your body looks after surgery.
