HOW WILL I RECEIVE HORMONE THERAPY?
Most hormone therapy is taken in pill form, once or twice a day.

HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT LAST?
Your health care provider will recommend the length of this therapy. It is often recommended for a period of five years.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HORMONE THERAPY AND CHEMOTHERAPY?
Hormone therapy blocks the growth of breast cancer cells. Chemotherapy involves the use of drugs to destroy existing cancer cells. With either treatment, your risk of a recurrence of breast cancer is decreased.

WHEN I WENT THROUGH MENOPAUSE, I TOOK ESTROGEN REPLACEMENT THERAPY TO PREVENT VAGINAL DRYNESS. WILL TAMOXIFEN INTERFERE WITH MY SEX LIFE?
It may contribute to vaginal dryness but you can use an artificial non-estrogen lubricant to counteract the dryness. Tamoxifen does not interfere with your ability to have an orgasm.

HOW EXTREME ARE THE BENEFITS, COMPARED TO THE NEGATIVE SIDE EFFECTS?
Most women have few or no side effects from Tamoxifen, and the benefits are significant - it can reduce your risk of breast cancer recurrence by 25% or more.

WILL HORMONE THERAPY SPEED UP AGING OR BONE LOSS?
No, it will help retard bone loss.
