The specialists took a look at the mammogram. They were pretty convinced that there was some kind of cancer and they explained the different treatment options. Mastectomy is always an option. Then they explained the lumpectomy procedure. Possibly radiation would be necessary, but probably not any chemotherapy. And at that point, I was absolutely relieved because I had heard horror stories about chemotherapy. |
