Introduction to Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences Theory (MI), which questions traditional conceptions of the nature of intelligence and appropriate assessments of it. As the name indicates, the theory asserts the existence of seven different intelligences: musical, bodily-kinesthetic, spatial, interpersonal, intrapersonal, logical mathematical, and linguistic. According to Gardner, despite the fact that each of these intelligences has currency in society, only the latter two are assessed with any regularity in schools.
