"Around the clock" medication

"Around the clock" medication

Because chronic pain is present most of the time, taking medications on a regular "around the clock" schedule works best to control it.

Waiting until pain flares up before taking medicine won't provide the effective pain control of scheduled doses.

Generally, people need less medication when they take their pain medicines regularly than if they use them only "as needed."
