Acetaminophen How does it work? |

Acetaminophen works on the brain center for temperature (in the hypothalamus) to control fever.
How it relieves pain is not clear, but it seems to work through a different mechanism than narcotics (opioids).
This is important because it means that acetaminophen can add to the pain relief provided by narcotics.
