Local anesthetics

How do they work?

How do I take them?

What about side effects?

What about addiction?

How do they work?

Local anesthetics work to relieve pain by stabilizing the nerves and reducing abnormal painful nerve signals caused by damage to nerves.

Local anesthetics are usually used only for nerve pain that is not relieved by either antidepressants or anticonvulsants.

When pain is not eased by these other medicines, local anesthetics may be effective.
