Whole Grain Master Mix

Quantities Ingredients
2 cupswhite flour
2 cupswhole wheat flour
3/4 cupnonfat dry milk powder (optional)*
1/2 cupoats
1/2 cupcornmeal
3 tablespoonsbaking powder
2 tablespoonssugar
1 teaspoonsalt (optional)
1/2 cupvegetable oil


Equipment Instructions

  • large mixing bowl
  • pastry blender or two knives
  • large storage container
  • mixing spoon

  1. Stir together flour, dry milk, oats, cornmeal, baking powder, sugar and salt in large mixing bowl.
  2. Cut in oil with pastry blender or two knives or use clean hands to blend the mixture until it looks like course cornmeal.
  3. Store in covered containers at room temperature.

NOTES: To measure the Master Mix when using it in recipes, first stir then pile it lightly in a cup then level it off with a knife. Whole Grain Master Mix can be used cup for cup for any recipe that calls for Master Mix. The Whole Grain Master Mix will help you add fiber to your diet.
