Beets with Orange Sauce

Quantities Ingredients
1/4 cupsugar
2 tablespoonscornstarch
3/4 cuporange juice
2 tablespoonslemon juice
3 cupscanned beets, drained and sliced

  • measuring cups
  • measuring spoons
  • saucepan
  • stirring spoon
  • sharp knife
  • cutting board
  • can opener (if canned beets are used)

  1. Mix sugar, cornstarch and orange juice in saucepan.
  2. Cook until thickened over low heat, stirring constantly.
  3. Remove from heat. Stir in lemon juice.
  4. Reheat over low heat and serve.

NOTES: Variation: Cooked beets can be used instead of canned beets.
