Stove Top Hamburger Noodle Casserole

Quantities Ingredients
1/2 cuponion, finely chopped
1/2 poundground beef
2 1/2 cupsnoodles, cooked
1 3/4 cupsboiling water
5carrots, thinly sliced
1/2 teaspoonpepper
1bouillon cube or 1 tsp. bouillon granules (optional)
1/2 cupMedium White Sauce (see page Sauces-5)


Equipment Instructions
  • measuring cup
  • sharp knife
  • cutting board
  • frying pan and cover
  • saucepan or tea kettle
  • mixing spoon
  • strainer or colander

  1. Brown ground beef and onion in frying pan. Drain off excess fat.
  2. Add all other ingredients except the white sauce to the beef mixture.
  3. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Stir occasionally. Add a little more water if necessary.

NOTES: Variation: Substitute salt for bouillon. To decrease/salt levels, prepare without the salt or bouillon.The nutritional analysis is based on using medium fat ground beef; if lean beef is used the calories and fat would be lower.
