Quantities Ingredients
1 poundground beef
1green pepper, chopped
1/4 cuponion, chopped
1 cupwater
1/2 cuptomato sauce
1/2 teaspoonchili powder and/or cumin
12tortillas


Equipment Instructions
  • measuring cup
  • measuring spoon
  • frying pan
  • mixing spoon

  1. Brown ground beef in frying pan. Drain off excess fat.
  2. Add all other ingredients to the beef except tortillas. Simmer until the onions and green pepper are soft, about 30 minutes.
  3. Warm tortillas in oven 10 minutes before filling.
  4. To make burritos, put about 2 tablespoons of the filling onto a tortilla and roll.
  5. Serve hot.

NOTES: Variation: To decrease fat and cholesterol, use refried beans or mashed kidney beans instead of beef.
