1/2 pound | ground beef |
1/2 cup | onion, chopped |
1 teaspoon | chili powder |
1/2 cup | uncooked rice |
1 | small cabbage head, sliced (2 cups) |
1 | can tomato soup, mixed with 2 cans water |

- Brown ground beef with onion in frying pan. Drain off excess fat.
- Add pepper and chili powder. Place half of the ground beef mixture in the bottom of the casserole dish.
- Spoon half of the uncooked rice and sliced cabbage onto the ground beef layer.
- Repeat layering with the rest of the ingredients (beef, rice, cabbage).
- Pour the undiluted tomato soup over the top.
- Cover and bake at 350¡F for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

NOTES: Variation: Use 1/2 pound ground turkey instead of beef.The nutritional analysis was based on using medium fat ground beef; calories and fat will be lower if lean ground beef or turkey were to be used. |
