Hamburger Stroganoff

Quantities Ingredients
2 teaspoonsonion, chopped
1/2 poundground beef
1/4 cupflour
1/2 teaspoonpepper
1 cupwater, boiling
3/4 cupsbuttermilk
2 1/4 cupscooked egg noodles

  • measuring spoon
  • frying pan
  • mixing spoon
  • 2 saucepans
  • strainer or colander

  1. Brown ground beef and chopped onion in frying pan. Drain fat.
  2. Stir flour and pepper into the beef mixture.
  3. Boil water in a separate pan. Add to beef mixture.
  4. Gradually stir in buttermilk. Continue to heat for three to four minutes.
  5. Cook noodles as directed. Serve beef mixture over the cooked noodles.

NOTES: Variation: Leftover, cooked vegetables can be added in step 3.The nutritional analysis was based on using medium fat ground beef; fat and calories would be lower in lean ground beef were used.
