Cornmeal Mix

Quantities Ingredients
2 cupscornmeal
2 cupsall-purpose flour
2/3 cupnonfat dry milk
2 tablespoonsbaking powder
5 tablespoonssugar
1 teaspoonsalt
1/2 cupvegetable shortening or oil


Equipment Instructions
  • mixing bowl
  • measuring cup
  • mixing spoon
  • 2 knives or pastry blender
  • measuring spoon

  1. Mix dry ingredients.
  2. Cut in shortening or oil with a pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture is fine crumbs.
  3. Keep mix tightly covered and store in refrigerator. Use within 3 months.
