Description: |
The state-of-the-art hub for Kent State's initiatives in the applied use of educational technology, the Ameritech Electronic Classroom, electronically links with the University's eight-campus system and also with schools, communities and corporations worldwide.
The classroom, a collaboration of teachers, supervisors and administrators in Portage and Summit County's K-12 public and private schools, is designed for observation, field experience and experimentation about how K-12 students interact with and learn using interactive multimedia courses.
The University's goal is to cultivate a group of K-12 teachers and administrators who are well trained in using the 'best practices' of educational technologies, and who will become skilled users of Kent's development tools and resources in learning and technology.
The Classroom's adjacent observation room allows researchers in Kent's College of Education to study students from kindergarten through grade 12 as they explore various information resources using the latest learning technologies. |
