Project Name: Ameritech Faculty Development Technology Program/The Educator's Toolbox (http://toolbox.ofic.org)
Application: Professional Development
Audience/Level: Higher Education
Academic Area: Varied
Description: In 1997, Ameritech created the Ameritech Faculty Development Technology Program -- a program that brings faculty together from independent colleges in Illinois, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin to develop and implement technology training for teachers. The program is managed by the independent college associations in each of the four states, including Associated Colleges of Illinois (http://www.acifund.org), Ohio Federation of Independent Colleges (http://www.ofic.org), Michigan Colleges Foundation (http://www.michigancolleges.com), and Wisconsin Foundation for Independent Colleges (http://www.wfic.org). Faculty from the four states who participate in the workshops have an opportunity to exchange best teaching and learning models through a regional toolbox posted on the world wide web.
