The Ameritech Hoosier Academic Super Bowl is a title sponsor partnership between Ameritech and the Indiana Association of competition for students in grades 9-12. The Super Bowl has separate competitions in English, fine arts, mathematics, science, social studies and interdisciplinary (a combination of the five subject areas). More than 5,000 students from 300 high schools are expected to take part in regional competition, during which 150 squads are expected to qualify for the state finals.
The Ameritech Hoosier Academic Super Bowl is unique to Indiana since it was originally conceived by various educators according to specific guidelines and it has continued to be evaluated and developed by concerned educators. The competition is research-based, utilizing a different theme each year with specific outlines and resources being developed as related to the theme.
Ameritech contributes $300 to the schools' media centers of 24 state champion teams in honor of their accomplishments. Ameritech also awards each champion team Olympic-style medals, plaques, banner and customized "road sign" that proclaim its champion status. |
