In a concrete sense, the pain kind of laid the ground rules for me as far as pain goes because it was the worst pain I'd ever been in. It kind of gave me an idea of what my threshold is. I knew when I went through surgery I was going to have pain, but like I said, I had never been through surgery before so I didn't know exactly what to expect. It just kind of laid out the rules for me. Like if I ever go back to a hospital I think I'll know what to expect.
