Usually, you will take NSAIDs by mouth, in various forms including tablets, capsules, and liquids.
Aspirin is available in chewable tablets.Indomethacin (Indocin) is available in rectal suppositories.Ketorolac (Toradol) can be given by injection or IV (note that the pill form of Toradol is not usually recommended for use longer than five days).

In general, you should never take NSAIDs on an empty stomach.

This does not apply to choline magnesium trisalicylate (Trilisate) and salsalate (Disalcid) which dissolve in the intestines instead of the stomach.
