These medications are NOT recommended for cancer pain relief because they are relatively weak pain relievers. They have a high rate of side effects on the brain (confusion, dizziness, hallucinations). They may also block the pain-relieving effect of narcotics and even cause withdrawal symptoms from narcotics.
