Peggy's Husband's Assessment

My husband's pain control

A week and a half

10 weeks of intense pain

Sharp chest pain

Active to the end

His biggest fear

Sharp chest pain

Initially, my husband complained of vague flank pain. Pain in the kidney area and the middle of the back in the middle. He would take Ibuprofen and it would be gone. He had a history of kidney stones. They thought he was passing the little gravel, which he had done in the past. After he got sick, his pain was primarily in the chest. He had some vague kidney flank pain, but very sharp chest pain and had a lot of difficulty breathing. The pain would be intense but we'd have it managed. He'd go on a plateau, then it would intensify more. He'd have to have more medication. That's the way his pain seemed to be.
