His biggest fear
He actually, for a month, felt well enough to do things. He even painted a little. He visited a lot of friends. We went to a wedding. We were able to do things that we could not have done before. And it was taped in with a plastic dressing and a special kind of tape around it, he could even take showers with this thing in. He was up and about. One week before he died he went to his 45th high school class reunion. Three days before he died we went for a boat ride and he fished for a couple of hours. He never was completely bedridden until 36 hours before he died. I attribute all of that to his magnificent pain relief. It was done with very good management by a very sophisticated pain center.
