Sarah's mom was 53 when she was diagnosed with incurable cancer. But JoEllyn was athletic and a fighter, and a good candidate for an extensive surgery that might prolong her life.
She was 53. She was a teacher, an elementary school teacher and she was very active. She sailed every summer. She swam at school. Rollerblade. So she was a really active person. Really active in school.
