Description:
Oxycodone is a narcotic (opioid) pain reliever. It can be taken in combination form with aspirin or acetaminophen. This combination may increase pain relief since non-narcotics and narcotics work in complementary ways. Oxycodone is also available as a single agent. When used alone, oxycodone can be increased as needed to control pain without the concern of giving too much aspirin or acetaminophen. Used in this way, oxycodone can be considered a strong narcotic.
