The screen shots and text give an overview of the learning
game. If you're interested, check
out our detailed storyboard and script used to in making
the CD-ROM. It provides more detail of what you'll find
on the CD-ROM and offers a view into how we create our projects.
The 4-H Children's Garden Exploration CD-ROM contains two
unique experiences, Plant Problems Exploration and Virtual
Garden Tour. (Note: The virtual tour is also available on
the web. To
view this tour, click here. The tour on the CD-ROM
is the grownup tour, not the spatial kids' tour described
elsewhere on the Comm Tech Lab site.)
Plant Problems Exploration
Help Dr. Norm and his friend, the Bee, with problems some
plants in the garden are having. You'll get to do some way
cool science as you figure out what the plant problem is.
Then explore possible solutions, looking at how those solutions
affect frogs, butterflies, dragonflies, humans and plants.
Pick a solution and print out your lab report.
Virtual Garden Tour
Whether you've already been to the Michigan 4-H Children's
Garden or are getting ready for a visit, you'll enjoy this
virtual tour of the 56 different theme areas. See pictures
of each area. Read about the inhabitants. And view a "Quicktime
VR" 360 degree virtual reality spin-around of that
area.
The 4-H Children's Garden CD-ROM was partially funded
by a grant from the Michigan 4-H Foundation and developed
by the Communication Technology Lab and the Department of
Horticulture at Michigan State University.
The 4-H Children's Garden CD-ROM
runs on Power Macintosh and Windows 95/98/NT and requires
16 MB of RAM.
