Esther had extensive surgery for the cancer and was in a great deal of pain afterward. Her doctors gave reassurances that the pain would subside but no clear plan for achieving pain relief. Just when it seemed that further surgery was the only choice for pain relief, she found a pain management program that helped her regain her normal life.
