Well, we went to New York and I had this very long and very difficult surgery. I was very involved with the pain clinic where I had read in several books about the quality of pain management they have is by far superior to most hospitals. My surgeon comes in one day and he wiggles my toe and he said, "now, I want you to bite the bullet and not take any more pain pills and bite the bullet," and I'm quoting him verbatim and he walks out of the room. At the same time, the pain clinic doctor was there he just grabbed his head and he went to me like this, "don't listen to him." After the surgeon left the room, the pain clinic man said to me, "you've got to stay on this medication or you'll go crazy with the pain."
