He really wasn't afraid of addiction. I think he knew how short his time was. He was a very remarkable person. He had a lot of visitors. He was a civic councilman. He was on the hospital board. He did many, many things for the community. He had a multitude of friends. Everyone wanted to see him and he greeted those friends. He handled it very, very well. He made it easy for people to talk to him. I think part of the reason things were easy was because his pain was totally controlled.
