Jeff's Assessment

Journalism major

A bump on my left shin bone

The word "cancer"

The first time I stood up

It was different at home

I appreciate health more

I don't identify with cancer

I don't identify with cancer

I haven't really met any other college cancer patients. I mean pretty much all I can say is that I had cancer, but to me, it is more like I just had a lot of surgery. Because I didn't know before the surgery that I had cancer. So it wasn't ever really like I was treated like a cancer patient or anything. I think I can lend support to a college cancer patient just from the perspective that I've been in the hospital and the word cancer is associated with me, but I don't think I could really understand what they were going through if they had, say leukemia. I think it would be a completely different thing.
